Bernotat&Co is a Dutch-German design studio, run by Anke Bernotat (the German one) and Jan Jacob Borstlap (the Dutch one). Together they design, develop, curate and manage local as well as international design projects and exhibitions.

Bernotat&Co believes in unlimited design. The designers work on all scales and in all disciplines: exhibition architecture, product design, graphic design, illustration, art direction and so on. Their scope is also unlimited: they embark on self-initiated projects, but also make designs for corporate clients – ranging from high to low budget and from idealistic to pragmatic.

Anke and Jan Jacob have a passion for creating (spatial) worlds, often with the help of clever low-tech solutions. Convinced that designers should have a helicopter view, Bernotat&Co dive deep into any matter. From this starting point, they develop designs which have depth as well as a sense of humor and reveal the poetry in the everyday.

The designs of Bernotat&Co have received various awards (German Design Award, Red Dot, Innovation Award for Architecture and Office, IF Design Award), and their work has been exhibited in many renowned museums worldwide (Die neue Sammlung, Munich; Museum Trapholt, Denmark; Design Museum Holon, Israel; Beurs van Berlage, Amsterdam; Hessisches Landesmuseum, Darmstadt; Royal Albert Memorial Museum, Exeter).

Anke Bernotat also holds a position as professor of Industrial Design at Folkwang-University of the Arts and regularly acts as juror on professional panels.
