When we originally designed the Triennial chair, it had to be stackable, but at the same time comfortable. We started to think about what comfort means and decided that it has more to do with a welcoming personal gesture than with thick upholstery. So we came up with a cushion-like shape for the back rest. This principle allows the chair to be literally dressed in an endless range of fabric combinations.
