The little Witch

Junges Schloss / Landesmuseum Württemberg, Stuttgart

Broomstick-riding, shape-shifting and magical spells: we translated the German children’s classic Die kleine Hexe (The Little Witch) into a big family exhibition, on the occasion of Otfried Preußler’s 100th birthday.

The client’s wish for a highly inclusive exhibition was translated into a poetic, sensorial space full of play – accessibility woven so seamlessly into the design that visitors simply experience the magic.

We used curtains to divide the spaces organically, and every exhibit is free-standing, so the show can travel easily:
from summer 2026, the Little Witch can be seen at the Historisches Museum, Bielefeld.

The exhibition in Stuttgart drew 125,000 visitors and was booked out almost the entire run.
